Kara Marie Trombetta

Kara Marie is an American photographer and educator based In the Lake Como region of Italy, and known for artful black-and-white portraiture of women. Her work often honors more of the body than traditional portraiture to gently remove the layers women are taught to hide behind. Each session is an invitation to be seen as naturally and honestly as the subject is comfortable, resulting in images that celebrate presence, humanity, and self-recognition rather than performance or perfection.

With over 18 years as a full-time professional photographer, Kara has photographed thousands of women from around the world, across ages, bodies, and abilities. She believes deeply in the power of real, tangible photographs; printed work that can be held, lived with, and returned to over time. Her images are created with longevity in mind: photographs meant to exist beyond the screen, serving as grounding reminders of self.

As an educator, Kara Marie brings the same values into her teaching for photographers. She focuses on helping creatives build aligned, sustainable businesses rooted in integrity, clear communication, thoughtful client experience, and work that feels meaningful to create.
