Andrea Barret << Back
Since first starting out as a wedding photographer 26 years ago, Andrea Barrett has gained an array of qualifications including FSWPP, ABIPP, AMPA and Cr.GWP and has become a SWPP Associate and Fellowship with Craftsman. Her talent and passion have clinched her more than 250 awards, including National Wedding Photographer of the Year for three consecutive years and regional awards in classical, avant garde, wedding album, wedding portfolio and environmental portrait categories. Her most recent win was the coveted WPPI Award of Excellence 2009 in Las Vegas – a convention Andrea has now attended four times and has already booked for next year. She has also judged competitors’ entries at both regional and national level for the last ten years and in that period has been nominated for the Woman of Achievement’s Businesswoman of the Year Award no less than three times. And having lectured on studio portraits, weddings and marketing to both fellow photographers and students for 15 years while also providing valuable training and experience to novice photographers during some of her 70-plus weddings each year, it’s easy to see why Andrea has become well liked and well respected in the industry. Her well-balanced mix of classical and modern styles and digital techniques – influenced by the likes of favorite photographers Jerry Ghionis, Mark Cleghorn and Nigel Harper – also makes her a popular choice among couples eager to take home ‘wow’ factor memories of their special day. Andrea continues to buck the credit crunch trend by taking more enquiries and bookings year-on-year. Mum to three daughters, Andrea also has 4 young grandchildren and enjoys holidays and traveling!
I've used Graphistudio since they started production ! I was so impressed by the revolutionary concept of album design, which at the time was way ahead of its time. I really love the quality and durability of the lovely albums, there are so many finishes and layouts and front covers to choose from, and it certainly gives all my brides so much choice, that no two albums are alike, so every bride feels like she is getting a unique album, which she is of course!
I recently (2011/2012) won the MPA wedding album photographer of the year, and was also placed as runner up, with both with Graphistudio albums, think that speaks for itself!
Ive been fortunate enough to be part of the Graphistudio "family" ! I've lectured at various trade shows both at home and abroad, it has been an honor and pleasure to represent Graphistudio over the last 10 years or so!
